Roxanna Varinia

I create because I want to share the most inspiring art of my heart, mind and soul.

Art has magic, meaning and can be experienced from different perspectives. It shows a story, for everyone to empathize.

I create visual stories that inspire, evoke feelings and create an atmosphere which creates a visual experience. From a young age I was always busy with creating and visualizing and with collage technique I filled my walls with themes that I was interested in. I also had a great interest in fashion, so I worked as a fashion stylist (and makeup artist) for several years. However, this didn’t feel like the right path and I continued my career as a graphic designer and discovered Photoshop. And with this everything came together! The collage technique, the digital styling of photos and insight into design created my style of art.

With creating my art I show the real strength of our emotional inner world. We all know ‘dark’ emotions such as fear, anger, sadness and pain, but often we ignore them too. We deny it, dodge it, and fear it, but there is no need for that at all! Because it is within the dark where so much creative power can be found and it can be a wonderful place of inspiration!

This is what my art showed me; that darkness is necessary to create light, that our hidden self-love and strength can be made visible because of the dark. After all, one cannot be experienced without the other, both are necessary for insight, balance and growth.

But often this is not without a struggle. The emotional world is very complex and consists of several layers, each with its own meaning and reality. When I create my art I work from these layers and intuitively reveal the strength behind and from the emotion(s). Layer upon layer I collect and match photos and cut, paste and position them digitally so that they merge into a narrative image with always a positive and powerful message!

And I would like to share this with you too. I hope my art can give you a helping hand and inspire you to come back to your inner light.

About my art and the story behind it

“Maybe the journey isn’t so much about becoming anything. Maybe it’s about un-becoming everything that isn’t really you, so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place.” ~ Paul Coelho

There is no greater feeling of happiness when you un-become everything that isn’t you! When you finally accept yourself for who you are and to experience what it’s like to feel worthy and loved by yourself.
